Take a look at that screen shot and tell me what's the first game that comes to mind. No need to even read the description (though that only reinforces my suspicion).

Huh...I dunno...gameplay looks reminiscent of Secret of Mana, maybe Legend of Mana, and the character designs look reminiscent of Guilty Gear...at least to me, anyway. 
Not sure WHAT to make of it. Pretty intriguing, though!

Guardian Heroes, obviously, since the game has been billed as such from its initial announcement. Glad it's coming to the U.S., but impressions from Japan haven't been terribly glowing last I checked.

The Joystiq story was the first I'd heard of it so I was pretty shocked how similar it looks to Guardian Heroes. I'd hoped it was being developed by Treasure themselves but the little information out there says some of the old GH team were assembled for the project. Not sure whether that makes the near plagiarizing look of it ok or not.
