By Esper Blue (Oct 03, 2011) (#1)

Hey all, I have some rare albums up for sale.  Please check my auctions.

Okay. The Goemon soundtrack are not valued at 700 dollars. At most they are valued at $500 USD (these are sealed copies btw).

Do a low bid on it and see how high it goes!

Checked the auctions and laughed my ass off thanks to those absurd prices. No wonder I sometimes hate people using vgm as somekind of moneymaking tools. Like some fools buying multiple copies of Sonic 1 & 2 OST for the future when they might get big bucks for them.

I'm HAPPY to negotiate a fair price for the Goemon N64 CD; just send me an offer.  I'm not INSISTING on selling it for 717.  I just put up random numbers because I've been out of the loop for the past 5-6 years while away at college and in California.

I'm so sorry if you hate me because my prices are high.  But if you notice, there is a Best Offer section under the buy it now, so I'm not trying to play tyrant with the prices.

I have not been here for 6 years, so I have not been keeping track of game music prices.  I know a lot of the people here, including the_miker, varshes from gamemp3s, among others.  You don't have to antagonize me about my prices.  I'll change them if you want to buy one.

I'm open to feedback and willing to work out a mutually fair price.  Again, I want to be happy, but I also want my buyer to be happy.  I was playing guesswork about what they were worth.  And was a little wrong, perhaps with some of the CDs (maybe all?)

And for the record, I was not stocking up on these to sell for later.  I collected sealed and rare albums like others collect sealed videogames.  I'm letting them go now because I need money for my personal film productions.

If you think such and such CD is worth 170 instead of 456, make me an offer, and I'll sell it for that much.  I trust this community.

Do you think I'm stupid enough to come here and try to rip you off hardcore?  This is collector central.  I came here for feedback and negotiation.  This is a marketplace after all.

Just give me a fair offer for them if you're interested.   In fact, if you want to give me your suggested prices on each of these CDs, that would be much appreciated.

I really just want to sell these CDs.

Thanks so much for your time.

I actually thought the prices for Shining Ark and III were on the low side. I haven't had a chance to examine the condition of the CDs, but I thought those were great prices. As for $700 for a soundtrack... eh, well, that seems a bit asinine, but then again I really don't know the prices most of these fetch.

Esper, make sure you get what they are worth. Ignore the penny pinchers

Ah ha!  Now I know who you are. smile

Esper Blue is an awesome guy and I definitely recommend buying from him.  While 717 bucks seems a little crazy for a CD, I've seen Goemon soundtracks go for insane amounts on YJA before.  Plus you can clearly see from the picture that he keeps his stuff in immaculate condition.  And most important of all, that "Make Offer" button is there for a reason.

By the way man, you could also throw your CDs up on the VGMdb Marketplace to get more potential buyers: http://vgmdb.net/db/marketplace.php?do=view

While Beyond The Beyond ranges around 9,000 yen on YJA, I have seen it sell as low as $45 on ebay. Don't be surprised if people don't place that high of bids on it.

Thanks for your info vert.  I appreciate that.

Miker, thanks for backing me up, pal!  I appreciate it.  I am sure everyone knows how generous this guy is.  Thanks again for the positive regards.  Would like to catch up soon.

And thanks everyone else for your information.

Interesting, I just sold one Goemon soundtrack for 700 (Momoyama), one for 475 (Deroderodouchu) and one for 300 (Legend of the Mystical Ninja).  There is a huge demand for them.  Someone on the Goemon International forum said recently some Deruderudouchu CD auction hit 150,000 yen.  Probably one of those bidding wars with egos on the line.  But still, these CDs seem to have gone up a lot in terms of demand.

I just sold the Terranigma Soundtrack for $225.

I am in the process of selling the F-Zero X and Banjo Kazooie Soundtracks together (both are brand new) for $250, plus shipping to a gentleman on this forum.

I will probably take down Beyond the Beyond, and keep it as a sentimental piece, considering it is one of my favorite albums, if 50-60 is all I could get for it sealed.

Everything else is still available.  I will be listing more CDs (like FZ Series AXIS by Sakuraba, and many other rare pre-1998 OSTs, as well as newer ones) within the coming weeks.

Holy Jesus.

One time an old collector let me pick one item out of his "rarities" shelf in the year 2000. Any item, $30.

Terranigma was on there.

Ys V OST was on there as well.

I chose Ys V.

I should've chosen Terranigma.

BACK ON TOPIC...

Esper, thanks so much for the explanation post. I wanted to write you off as well, but after you explained your intent and your admitted lack of knowledge on the current US market for these import items (read: generally weak), I have to say, I like the cut of your jibe.

And if I had more money, I'd put a fair offer out for Shining the Holy Ark. based on my understanding, your listing price on that one is pretty current to market value anyway.

Also, those Goemon YJA bids are insane. I wish I could watch a bid war live. smile

I'd sell my Legend of the Mystical Ninja for 300, brand new, shrinkwrapped, if you know someone...
