What's your current desktop wallpaper look like?

By Angela (Oct 09, 2008) (#1)

I use three computers routinely, so three separate wallpapers for me.  I always go with a 1024 x 768 setting for my computer desktops.

Work:  Okami
Laptop:  Speed Racer
Home PC:  Order of Ecclesia

We're not allowed to have personalized wallpapers at work.  =p  I hear they'll be making changes though soon to let us though.  But you know how corporate machines work.. bleah.

At home I have FFIV DS wallpaper, looks great in 1920x1080.  I don't use my laptop that often so it's still on a Meitantei Conan wallpaper.

I have a Sonata Arctica wallpaper right now. It has the keyboard player dressed up like Uncle Sam and it says "I Want YOU Drunk"

I prefer minimal/ambient or natural-settings type backgrounds, and rotate on a somewhat seasonal basis.

I think I've had RE4 wallpapers on my computers for, like, three years now. What can I say? I'm loyal. wink

Visuals if possible, people. :)  Seeing the wallpapers themselves is half the fun.

I've only used this one (second to last on the first column) and this one over the past year.  The latter one is the one I'm using now.

I've primarily been using an Ouendan 2 wallpaper on my laptop for a year now: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/ao2j/downl … 4/wp13.jpg

I love the simplicity of the silhouettes. It allows me to get my fanboy on w/o it being too flashy. I would've used the blue one, but I like Team Red's character designs better.

Occasionally I'll switch to my Dancemania-themed wallpaper for my blue fix:

At home I've got a Toucan, which I think came with Windows Vista. In any case, it looks something like this:

Dunno why I love Toucans so much. After all, I can't stand Froot Loops.

I also have dozens of icons on my desktops that I never use.

Got me a sweet Gundam Seed pic (from Destiny, to be specific). Despite my disdain for that particular entry, the pic itself is fantastic.

Got a sweet Okami one, too.

Got a whole ton of other ones, too. Too lazy to post links, though.

My desktop background is the same for work as it is for home.

And, on that note, it is my home sweet home.

We're allowed, though they have to be work safe.  There's about three of us that always uses game-related wallpapers, and we walk each other's stations from time to time to see "what's hot."  Except for Marc, who always uses Zone of the Enders themes.  He can't stand Metal Gear, though, and you can bet your ass that's he gotten many a scoldings from me about that.

This RE4 one always looked dope to me.  Also, are you warming up to RE5 yet?  This fanmade one of Chris and Sheva is particularly awesome.

You'd be a fool if you went Blue.  I'll say what I've been wanting to say since O2 was released: Team Blue are a buncha pansies.  There, I said it.

Nice one there, Abrahm.  Is that one of your own shots?

Work: Hitsugaya Toushirou (Bleach)
Laptop: Gankutsuou
Home desktop: hijacked by my b/f no matter WHAT it is, heh

I usually change wallpapers every so often, usually after I get obsessed with a series, hence the Gankutusou one when I could have chosen other series. I'm also real picky...I like dark backgrounds because I keep a lot of icons on my desktop and I'd like to be able to actually SEE them. I'm still looking for a dark-colored Emma one...

Nah, got it from InterfaceLIFT a long time ago.  That site has lots of nice wallpapers for widescreen displays.

On the topic of Okami (which most people seem to have as their desktops around here)...  has anyone ever gotten their replacement Wii slipcovers that were supposed to have been sent out?  I remember seeing a couple things on Kotaku saying that they were slow in getting out and everyone was supposed to be getting them soon or something to that effect... I've seen nothing... what about anyone else?

I didn't request a slipcover myself, but a few of the NeoGAF folks did, and some are reporting that they're just receiving theirs now, while others haven't gotten anything as of yet:

Wasn't this thing running like back in May?

A couple of scans from the Last Resort cart manual...

I need to look through some more manuals. SNK art is so cool.

Time for a desktop swap.  The DS version has rejuvenated my interest in Ys:

Work:  Ys 20th Anniversary 1
Laptop:  Ys 20th Anniversary 2
Home PC:  Coraline 1, Coraline 2, Coraline 3, Coraline 4 (I have these interchange themselves on a daily basis.  Awesome is Coraline.)

Both work and home computers are USUALLY dominated with pictures of my children.

But right now, at work, I have an xkcd comic as my background.

http://xkcd.com/557/

That one to be specific.

I have that dream, but it's old jobs, not school.
