New forums question -- Last unread post button

By jb (Feb 09, 2006) (#1)

Is it not possible with these forums?  I jump right to the new threads link, so I can see all the threads that have new posts since I've been here, but it's kind of annoying scrolling through the threads (and remembering!) which post I read last.  sad  The blue icon on the left of the post only indicates that it has a post since my last visit, most boards there is a clickable link that will jump to that post. smile

Any way this can get implemented?  Thanks

I think it already is. Go to "New posts" at the bottom of the main page as you usually do, and when the unread threads come up there's an option called [New posts] next to the bolded subject line that'll jump you down the thread.

Ditto. There's a big ole  [ New posts ] link after each thread with new posts in it.

I still miss the "mark all threads read" link, though. sad

Hmm, wasn't working in Fiyahtruck for some reason.  Weird place for it anyway.

Where would you suggest?  Actually I'd considered just having the highlighted blue box on the left side link to new posts, but now I figure people would miss the "New posts" link.

That is where I'm used to it on most forums.  Usually the icon that indicates there is a new post is at least clickable to bring you to them.  No worries though, at least I know there is one now.  Thanks~
