I'm all but positive that those bits of text off to the side are either:

a. named weapons Aya is using
b. the call names of the soldiers she possesses

That whole thing caught my eye when the first (real) trailer hit and there was an "Oscar Wilde". It drove me crazy for a while until more gameplay details come out, after which I'm leaning towards B.

Perhaps it's Hope? I remember watching Days of our lives, and a guy named Bo had a girlfriend named Hope, and she was buried alive, and suddenly Bo was without Hope in his life. [Hope was brought back from the grave, no worries.]

Maybe it's Hope from FFXIII.

God knows my life could've done without him.

Playing Quake (the first one). It syncs up amazingly well with Bel Canto, Shadow Hearts and Parasite Eve music. I am in sweet gothic heaven right now.

EDIT: And Baroque, too.

I love the archaic feel of the weapons and level architecture. Everything about the game is oppressive. The monster designs are great and the sound design is, in my opinion, flawless. I'd agree with you that it's a classic.

This is how I feel about Doom; it's just a magnificent piece of software desipte limitations.

Eh, c'mon, it can't be that bad, I don't know you, but I don't believe you're an "utter" failure (very few people are). As for having accomplished nothing (at least so far), its like Eric Idle says in the crucifixion scene from Monty Python's Life of Brian: "You come from nothing, you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!"

I can dig the anxiety regarding hitting the big three-o, I'll be there in about a month myself. Even though I feel my life overall is on the right track and I am "accomplishing" stuff, I still get down sometimes when thinking about the number 30. But... that's all it is, a number, the only power it has over us is the power we ourselves bestow upon it, mostly by buying into society's pre-packaged deal of how you're supposed to "be" when you're 20, 30, 40, etc.. Most people change very little from the time they're 29 to when they're 31 (for example), yet people still treat it like its this big, transformative watershed, because round numbers like that are very psychologically satisfying and neat. So much that they have the power to dump all this anxiety over us that wouldn't even exist if we didn't have a concept of numbers or a pre-determined conception of what a "normal 30-year-old" is "supposed" to be like...

It feels like I officially start wishing everybody else would also have a miserable life. How pathetic of me to envy others.
