Dracula Best II query, for any who may know...

By Nick (Oct 20 '08, 16:31) (#1)

Apologies for the boring topic - I'm not sure where else to ask.

Does anybody know whether there are any major (or minor) differences between the original 1991 issue of Dracula Best II (KICA-7506/7) and the 1998 re-release (KICA-7902/3)? Was there any remastering (particularly of the overcompressed, volume-boosting variety) or change in the liner notes? CV4 has a soundtrack I've loved for many years and I'd rather not settle for second rate.
I guess this question also goes for the other reprints in that series.

Thanks!

If nobody here answers, try asking at VGMdb.net

I'm not sure... I have the reprint and I adore it; the sound is pretty crisp to me. Still, Castlevania IV and Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge are reason enough to have/get either version.

I have no powers, I mean unless you count the ability to blow minds with my weapons-grade philosophical insights.

I'm fairly sure there was no alternation to the music contents (no remastering).

Physically the obi, discs, etc will be different, as they added the yellow "O.TA.KA.RA" Series graphics to show it's a reprint.
