Another present for you guys...

If anyone would like to volunteer to tag and time it, wave your hands around like a mad person.
I think this set fills a lot of requests from the previous thread.
I didn't rip it, davironica did.
I would like to also mention that this set in its current form is NOT for redistribution. It's not done.
Some tracks have titles, which may or may not be correct.
Enjoy. :-) I'll probably officially release the WIP set before the OST comes out... mainly extending the search for someone willing to tag/time it after the OST comes out.
I'll also be posting the full Atelier Iris ~Eternal Mana~ PSF2 set later tonight, after I get a chance to verify all of the tracks and stuff.
Please email me if there are any consistency problems with any of the tracks in the below linked archive such as missing instruments, clicks, etc. I hear this driver was a pain in the ass to get working. :)

And we thought it'd be one of the unrippables, but DV proved us wrong. Excellent! :DDo I trust that he's taking what he's learned and gone chasing after the first KH? ;)

Here's what I said about the music at SquareSound...
Ok, so I listened to a pretty much complete gamerip of the Kingdom Hearts II score. What did I find? Well, Yoko Shimomura is in very top shape. Her arrangements are as good as ever, though some fall behind their originals, and the new composition warrant a pass in my books, but it's the horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE synth programming that makes everything sound less than it should. It should be stated here and now, Takeharu Ishimoto SHOULD be on the bottom with Hirosato Noda, though Vagrant Story makes Ishimoto a bit higher. You can see that he even made classic Final Fantasy VII composition, "One Winged Angel" sound like a laughable disaster, even suggesting Minoru Akao's programming on the original piece was brilliant. Honestly, I was expecting a synth choir :P. Classic Kingdom Hearts track "Destati" also takes a turn for the worse, with a horrid synth choir and the cheap string set, as well as ""A Day in Agrabah" which sounds unbearable. A lot of other tracks follow this tradition.
I'm not sure what to think about that OST now. It's nowhere near as good as the first, and I find it hard to track down stand out compositions. Disappointed, I am, but not for Shimomura, that's for sure.

Synth shit
I couldn't agree more with you, Harry. The synth is SO terrible. I was expecting the one from the original KH but NO! I mean.. the compositions are good, but the synth just makes everything sound like something I wrote. The "best" example from my side would be Scherzo Di Notte - I LOVE the original song but I can't stand listening to this new version.
I'm very, *VERY* disappointed with the sound bank, words can't express that. It takes at least 50% of the Kingdom Hearts feeling away. I'm actually thinking about commenting on Shimomura's blog: "Please tell Takeharu Ishimoto that he raped almost every song you wrote with that piece of crap synth. Please make sure that he will never work as synthesizer operator again."
Well.. no big deal. It was just over two years of waiting and then the sound programming blows.. heh.. heh..

I think the best example of a good arrangement but shitty synth is "He's a Pirate". The classic Pirates of the Caribbean track has been transformed into an enjoyable but short version. Arrangement-wise, it's pretty decent, but Ishimoto made it sound bad because of the painfully cheap string and brass set. It's too bad Yamazaki was too busy working with Hamauzu on Dirge of Cerberus. His synth work on Kingdom Hearts was pretty good, even though it was perhaps his weakest work. Again, I sympathize for Shimomura, as with every project Ishimoto works with her (Legend of Mana, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories) it ends of being below the standard (although CoM was alright for a GameBoy Advance game).

Funnily enough, Ishimoto has been upgraded from synth operator to composer at Square Enix. This is puzzling considering Hidenori Iwasaki, Ryo Yamazaki and Yasuhiro Yamanaka are much better workers overall in the synth and composing area. Stupid S-E ;_;

That means he is working on a major game as a composer right now, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- on PSP. He is a very good composer & arranger, by the way, if you like rock of course...
You can notice that Takeharu Ishimoto is much more talented with rock than with orchestral, the Gummi Ship rock battle tune is a good proof of it, probably the best sound programming of the game.
Anyway, as always Harry, you overdo everyting. "Horrible" is not the word. Although I agree the word is not "Excellent".

I wasn't too impressed with his programming of tracks like "Pain the Universe" or "The Darkness" from Legend of Mana. The Electric Guitar samples were too muffled, though the compositions are outstanding.

I'm sorry; I just don't expect Super Nintendo-like synth quality on an established PS2 game. "Horrible" is an appropriate word when it has perhaps some of the worst quality on the popular console. Then again, I can say you overdo your praise :P

Might this mean...
Atelier Iris's music with loops?OST's I love and that don't loop are the bane of me. One of my best finds last year was a Valkyrie Profile rip that had all the tracks looped. It was in mp3, but I'm pretty sure it was just converted over from psf.

Yep, go get it.

though... davironica always times her rips with one loop, you can set HE to loop infinitely.
I absolutely love the Atelier Iris music. The songs sound so... dynamic. It's the drumkits that are used or something. I can't put a finger on it, but it's awesome. The production quality blows KH2's away, as odd as that sounds.

Always the chance...
...that what you found was my Unofficial OST. I actually recorded a 3-CD set of Valkyrie Profile's music from the game itself before a .PSF of it was released.Although the sound quality of the soundtrack was great, I'm really tired of how Sakuraba's music is traditionally not looped, at least not on any soundtrack I've purchased... :/

Here's my recommendations...
-riya - sung on Clannad OST and Legend of Heroes PSP OST/single...she has my favorite voice.-Chage & Aska - ok as a pair, but Aska's solo stuff is in-freakin-credile. Check out his song 'Girl' from the Kicks album. I'll upload it for you later, actually, because you need to hear it.
-Access - older stuff is TERRIBLE, yet somehow good too. Their newer stuff ['99 on] is generally great though, if you like melodic techno/rock and don't mind extremely girly men with really stupid lyrics. I can only take their music in small doses.
-Daisuke Asakura - part of Access, but MUCH better on his own. He rarely sings, but often has killer insane techno/rock instrumentals, or has other vocalists [male and female] sing lead and he just does chorus. He didn't do much of anything good until recently, other than the decent Daiva OST [VGM, hey.] His newest project was 8 or 9 albums that all went together as a set, each on a different theme [and named after a different aspect of quantum physics.] That's his best work, by a long shot. I can upload some for you, since it's hard to find.
-Momota Kayoko - I honestly don't know a thing about her, but she sings 'Alive' from Digital Devil Saga 2, and MAN.
-hiro - I don't know much about her either, but she has a single called 'Clover' that I heard from a friend, and I really liked it. It's mellow and smooth, kinda RnB-ish.
-Yuji Toriyama - wrote the new theme song to Suikoden V, as well as the World Heritage somethingorother. Can't say much about his older 80's rock stuff, but his new work is usually a blend of awesome orchestra work with him on electric or acoustic guitar [no vocals.] He usually records that stuff with the Royal Phil from the UK, which is what he did for Suiko V.
-Kozo Murashita - hehe...I don't really know why I used to like him so much. His voice is very nice, and his guitar playing is excellent, but really, other than a couple songs, his music has not aged well. He's dead too. :/ I will upload '16 Years Old' and 'Life,' both of which rock very hard [which is not common for his style.]
Check out other's lists too, there is so much out there. Hope that helps.

About the tracklist
Sooo... here's my inventory:-11 songs STRAIGHT from Kingdom Hearts which most likely weren't used (don't know, haven't played the game).
These include:
Under The Sea
An Adventure In Atlantica
Guardando Nel Buio
Never Land Sky
Squirming Evil
4x Strange Whispers (variations etc)
2x Villains Of A Sort.
-38 tracks with track numbers and titles I know OR believe to be correct. However, I don't know which version of Arabian Dream and Bounce-O-Rama is correct, they both have two.
-51 tracks and no idea of the titles.
That probably won't help much but hey, I had some free time. Besides, it's pretty much useless to try naming the tracks anyway before the soundtrack comes out.. Maybe I'll just guess the rest, too, and see how many I got right.

Man, the Traverse Town battle theme doesn't quite so awesome as it did in Chain of Memories. :\I don't see how anyone can really complain about the music synth that much....
